Small Groups at Thrive
Here at Thrive we believe that God made us to experience life with others. But it’s tough to get close to others when you are always in a crowd. That’s why at Thrive, we encourage everyone to be part of a small group.
Thrive Small Group is a group of people who meet regularly to encourage one another as they follow Christ, to share in each other’s joys and struggles, to hang out and have fun together, to pray with one another and to serve the community together.
At Thrive every Small Group has the same 4 purposes:
- S – Support (A place to encourage and support one another through life’s ups and downs)
- S – Sanctification (A place to grow more like Jesus)
- S – Service (A place to exercise my God-given talents to serve others)
- BBB – Belonging to the Bigger Body (A place that reminds us of how we fit into the bigger picture, the larger body that is the church)
No matter your background—married or single, studying or working, new to faith or a long-time Christian—there’s a group for you!
If you have any questions about small groups, we’ve included answers to a few frequently asked questions at the bottom of the page under FAQ to help you get started.

FAQ
Q: What happens after I sign up?
A: Once you sign up, we’ll prayerfully match you with a group, keeping the preferences you indicated in mind. In early October, your Small Group Leader will contact you with more information about the group, including meeting times and other details.
Q: What will a typical small group meeting look like?
A: Most small group gatherings include sharing life’s ups and downs, looking at the Bible together, talking about what we learned from the Sunday message, praying together, and enjoying fellowship. Some groups may also share a meal or snacks. Small groups are a place for mutual encouragement and support, a place to become more like Jesus, a place discover and use your gifts, and a way to connect with others in our community!
Q: What happens after the small group period (October 2026–April 2027)?
A: From May through August, small groups will take a break. During that time, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for other community groups such as passion groups (interest-based groups), prayer groups, and Bible study groups.
Q: What if I don’t feel like the group I’m in is the right fit?
A: We encourage you to give it at least 3 meetings before making a decision. Remember, building relationships takes time to grow. But if after 3 gatherings you still feel it’s not the best fit, no worries! Just email us at [email protected] and we’ll help you find another group.
